 Quadranet Mail Server Migration 6/14/2004

It's long overdue and now it's time to migrate all qnis.net clients to our mail system. The following information will help you to change your settings to receive your mail through our new system. YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WILL NOT CHANGE.

UPDATE: If you believe you have mail on the old QNIS server you can now only access it through the old web mail system. To access old QNIS web mail on old server, click here.

Steps to ensure smooth migration:

Step 1: Confirm Email address and password.
Log in to our billing system and confirm your email account is there and the password is correct. While we've made every effort to ensure all the qnis.net email accounts have been properly input to our system, we encourage you to make sure. 

In order to log in, you need your registration number and password. Your reg # can be found at the top of any invoice we send you. It can also be found in most email correspondence from us. Your password should match your dialup account, unless you've changed it with us over the phone. If you're stuck and can't get in, there's a link at the bottom of the customer support login page to retrieve your password. If you STILL can't access it, please call us at 559-261-4444 and we'll help you with it.

After you login to the billing system, click the link titled "View/Edit Plan Details". You should see your dialup and email accounts listed. If there's a problem with it/them you can click the edit button and correct it. If your email account isn't listed within this page, click "Add" to the right of E-Mail Account and enter your email address, password and Real Name. If you are having difficulty, please contact us at 559-261-4444.

Step 2: Be prepared for the change on Monday.
Monday morning around 9:00am, we'll be shutting down the old qnis.net mail server and enabling all the @qnis.net addresses on our mail server. The major difference between how your mail is received now and after the migration, is that your username will change from just the first part of your address to your full email address. If you have problems connecting to the new mail server, you are encouraged to change your incoming and outgoing mail servers to "mail.theworks.com" and your username to your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS. It will take a day or 2 for the name "mail.qnis.net" to effectively work with mail client software (like Outlook or Eudora)

Step 3: If you're having problems.
We've learned with all of the migrating we've done lately that having a backup plan is a necessity. We will undoubtedly be very busy on Monday morning due to those folks that won't get our emails in time to prepare for this change. If you're having problems, please use our webmail system to access your email box. Just use your full email address and password to log in.

We'll be staffing the phones late on Monday and Tuesday to help those customers who aren't home during the day. Please be patient during this process and know that on the other side of it you'll be SPAM and Virus Free!
